Principal Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Diller Teen Fellows Coordinator serves as an educational leader executing and implementing key program experiences of teen engagement and teen leadership (i.e. Diller Teen Fellows, Goldston Teen Philanthropy, etc.) that enhance the Agency's mission and core values. This position works as a part of the Teen Engagement Team within the Department of Jewish Life at the JCC. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Second Floor Teen Department:
  • Participates in the planning, implementation, facilitation, and supervision of miscellaneous teen engagement experiences through the Department of Jewish Life.
  • Builds working relationships/partnerships with other Jewish organizations and congregations (i.e. BBYO, youth groups, congregations, Repair the World, Jewish Federation) consistent with JCC mission, goals and operating objectives.
  • Participates in community-wide teen program experiences.
  • Develops and implements short and long-range programmatic goals related to teen engagement, learning and leadership in keeping with the mission, vision and annual operating plan of the agency.
  • Share in the responsibility of staffing The Second Floor open hours Monday-Thursday.
• Diller Teen Fellows Coordinator:
  • Designs & facilitates the educational curriculum & content for the 12-month experience for Diller Teen Fellows, including ongoing curriculum developments based on Diller International guidelines.
  • Design and lead Jewish Community Mifgash 10-day seminar and travel to Israel with teen fellows for 3-week summer seminar.
  • Completes Diller Teen Fellows grant requests and helps manage the local program budget in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh.
  • Participates in national and international Diller Teen Fellows professional development for coordinators.
  • Creates, coordinates and implements recruitment strategy & marketing materials.
  • Provides updates to the local DTF website, manages local social media accounts and all database information.
  • Participate in the Jewish Federation Diller Teen Fellows Advisory Committee meetings.
  • International travel required 3 times per calendar year
• Samuel M. Goldston Teen Philanthropy:
  • Develops & facilitates the educational curriculum & content for the 10-month experience for Samuel M. Goldston Teen Philanthropy (monthly workshops, site visits, etc.).
  • Creates, coordinates and implements recruitment strategies and marketing materials.
  • Develops and manages the program budget.
• General Responsibilities:
  • Maintains effective working relationships with program participants.
  • Develops and oversees program budget and adheres to fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Generates service statistics/financial reports and program analysis on a timely basis.
  • Lends Judaic programmatic expertise to special events, as needed.
  • Works effectively with other key JCC departments to provide effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Ability to define problems, develop solutions, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to manage and balance a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment under tight time constraints.

Minimum Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Jewish Education, or related field, with Master's Degree preferred, with at least three (3) years' experience working in Jewish educational settings with an emphasis on teen engagement or equivalent combination of education and experience.Understanding of and appreciation for Israeli culture, preferably including having spent time in Israel and at least a beginning understanding of Israeli history, politics and geography.Experience in developing and leading programming addressing Jewish identity development, youth leadership development, community service and Israel education.
