Principal Responsibilities:

The Inclusion Program Unit Head is a dynamic and compassionate leader responsible for overseeing Camp Kef's Inclusion Program. This role supervises a team of 8-12 Advocate Counselors and ensures a positive, supportive, and successful camp experience for campers with special needs, their families, and staff. The Unit Head works closely with camp leadership, families, and partner organizations to foster an inclusive camp environment rooted in dignity, safety, and growth.

We serve campers from infancy through 10th grade and emphasize universal Jewish values including kindness, community, spirit, and respect. Minimum Qualifications:

Responsibilities:

March - June (Pre-Camp Responsibilities)

*5 - 10 hours per week, can likely be worked remotely after training

• Review camper IEPs and other submitted documentation; follow up with families regarding missing information or questions
• Collaborate with the Social Enrichment Center (SEC) to determine appropriate camper placements, including itinerant support
• Communicate with families of campers enrolled in the Inclusion Program
• Coordinate Advocate Counselor placements and support staff in creating camper welcome materials
• Plan and facilitate training sessions for Advocate Counselors and general
• Attend all required leadership training sessions

June - August (Camp Season)

*40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:15am - 4:15pm. On-site required

• Supervise Advocate Counselors, including scheduling, coaching, reassignment of campers as needed, trainings, and end-of-summer evaluations
• Partner with Advocate Counselors and SEC therapists to assist in the development and implementation of behavioral and social-emotional support plans
• Coordinate individual camper schedules with SEC, including social skills sessions
• Communicate with parents of Inclusion campers at least weekly regarding successes, challenges, and overall progress
• Address parent communication promptly regarding behavioral concerns or special situations
• Provide direct support to Advocate Counselors as needed, including
• Collaborate with Camp Directors and other Unit Heads to identify and support campers who may need services but were not identified prior to the summer
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality regarding campers' physical,
• Actively participate as a member of the Camp Kef Leadership Team
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor
• Attend a one-hour end-of-summer leadership team wrap-up meeting
• Participate in a one-hour debrief meeting with the Camp Director

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 21 years old
• 3 - 5 years of experience working with children with special needs, including ASD and behavioral needs.
• 1 - 2 years of experience in customer service and/or communicating with parents
• Experience working at a summer camp preferred

Compensation:

• $5,440 - $6,400 for the Summer 2026 season based on experience
• Hourly compensation provided for required work completed prior to the camp season
• Training bonus offered upon completion of required trainings
• Camp tuition discount available for eligible legal dependent
